RME – The Last Supper

This week we have been learning about Holy Week and The Easter Story. We have investigated and explored the events of each day leading up to Easter as described in The Bible.

Yesterday we were very fortunate to have Rev. Farquhar Forbes along with Therisa, a member of Inshes Church come into class yesterday to help teach us about The Last Supper. Farquhar shared the story of Jesus’s Last Supper from The Bible, we discussed the significance of the story as well as the meaning and relevance to us today.

P7 were asked to think about their time at Milton of Leys as it begins to draw  to an end. We thought about the people that were important to us at MOL as well as what our last meal would be. P7 looked through The Bible and ”tweated’ the key verses sharing the story. Farquhar demonstrated what the last supper may have looked like, explaining the significance of bread and wine. Finally we looked at how Christians believe Jesus died for us.

P7A had a lot of great questions and really embraced the challenges set, we only wish there was more time to spend with Farquhar and Theresa!

Sumdog Competition!!

The Highland Sumdog competition opened on Friday! As promised I have entered P7A!!

In order to qualify for the competition we need at least 10 people in the class to play.

In order to win we need all 27 pupils to complete 1000 questions each!!!

My P7 class last year came FIRST in Highland and I am confident if everyone works together P7A can come first this year too!!! I will plan for everyone to have a little time in class to work on Sumdog but the majority of this needs to be completed at home.

The competition closes on Thursday, currently Dingwall P7s are leading.

P7 Ski Trip

Please note that the P7 ski outing will not be going ahead on Monday 18th. It has been difficult to plan with the uncertain snow conditions this year. P7 teachers will confirm plans for skiing for January 25th early next week. Thank you.

Shrove Tuesday

Today in P7A we were learning about Shrove Tuesday and why it is important to many Christians to celebrate Shrove Tuesday in preparation for the beginning of Lent, tomorrow on Ash Wednesday.

P7 worked together to build our fire and took it in turns to cook pancakes on the fire. Some of our P7s even got the chance to show of their flipping skills too.

Here is the updated and edited version of homework which hopefully both P7 classes will manage. If you’ve any problems please let me know.

Apologies you don’t have a printed version, as you know P7 the printer wasn’t working for me!

Hope you’ve a super weekend and see you all on Monday.
